Occasionally sending an email to a recipient, the email will bounce back. Unable to reach it's destination.

These errors occur based on a list of possible reasons.

Firstly, there could be a spelling error in the email address you are sending too

Secondly, this error can be due to spam black list (usually the case). Your domain name or IP address has been added to a spam server black list due to malicious use of your domain name and emails cannot now reach their intended recipient addresses because of the reputation of your domain name OR IP address.

What to do?

  1. Inspect the email header within the email notice you receive for the bounce error. Error will reaad something like this;

    A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

    'email address'
    SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
    host 'email address' [72.16.208.2]: 554 Service unavailable; Client host [server name] blocked using Barracuda Reputation; http://www.barracudanetworks.com/reputation/?r=1&ip=86.98.28.221

    Please lodge a support ticket providing the email header information.

  2. Please ensure you are running the latest virus software and it is up-to-date.
  3. Please do NOT send more than 10/20 of the same emails out via your email program.
